The Five-Year Engagement

My fiance and I met in the military. We started out as co-workers and soon we were great friends; Now, he's someone I can't imagine my lifee with. We've been through it all together; raising kids, buying a house, even those horrible "relationship issue" and we're still going strong.

With my recent move to Virginia, I have been unable to save up as much as I would want to since now I have to pay rent, bills, gas and tolls, just to be able to work here and see my family on weekends, who are still living in New Jersey.

My fiance is back home with the boys, keeping them enrolled in soccer, T-ball, basketball and karate so that he can stay at work for his 8 hours.

Saving as much as we had intended is no longer plausible, since those extra funds are being used to pay for my home in Virginia while I'm here, this is a 400sqft apartment.

I drive home every single weekend! I love my family and a 4 hour drive won't keep me away from them. However, it seems that much more than that 4 hour drive is keeping my fiance and I away from our dreams getting married next year.
