THE FALLING EMPIRE

Hello everyone it’s Breta Ookami here. Im extremely excited to be reaching out for support on a very dear project of mine that has been in the works for a good while now. The Falling Empire series came to me one day and has since begun to bloom into something I could never have imagined. This story has been in my thoughts, dreams and imagination and we are finally bringing it to life.

Shun is the Prince and heir to an advanced civilisation known as Lánbǎoshí, an empire old as the dawn of humankind. Through thousands of years of peace and prosperity Lánbǎoshí has reached unparalleled levels of sophistication and technological advancement. Keeping themselves cloaked from the rest of the world in mysterious technology, the Emperor and people of Lánbǎoshí have been able to maintain their way of life without the set backs of war, and poverty alike. It wasn’t until the birth of the Emperor Shǎohào that greed and corruption began to breed once more. Born with a certain wickedness unseen in their people for countless generations, the power the throne offers the new Emperor threatens Lánbǎoshí and their very way of life.

With the ability to open portals to other worlds, the likes of which have never been seen by human eyes, Emperor Shǎohào seeks to utilize their resources for his own gains. His only son and heir to the crown, Prince Shun is horrified by his fathers actions. But, unfortunately he doesn’t have the resources or the courage to overthrow his only remaining family, no matter how evil the beat his fathers heart dances too.

However, when Shun is sent on a scouting mission to a foreign world everything changes. By chance, and sheer fate, he comes across a woman named Aiyana, a forest dweller of a foreign world. It is through her eyes that Shun sees a future for himself and his people once more. No longer caught in the current of his fathers will Shun begins his journey to becoming a true Emperor. For himself and his people.

Come embark on an adventure that will take you through worlds of shape shifting humans, secret underwater Kingdoms, love, grief, and adventures where portals to the unseen are pulled open.

About the Author

Breta Ookami, for as long as she has known has been imagining stories and worlds in her head, full of incredible characters and fantastic worlds. Since she was young she has loved comics and fantasy books of all kinds, which have created a mind primed for storytelling. Breta loves to collaborate with her siblings and friends, comparing their stories with one another and constantly striving to improve and bounce ideas off one another in a fun and creative environment.

What This Project Means To Me

This project is a huge deal, as it will mark my first debut into the world of writing. I have always dreamed of becoming an author and with it so close on the horizon I am filled with awe and gratitude. The Fallen Empire series is going to be a duology and is my first in (hopefully) a great number more stories and publications to come. This story is not only a dream of mine, but a dream I want to share with the world. A dream that I hope brings as much wonder to your life as it has to mine. As the characters developed in their own right I am so grateful to have met and interacted with them, for they teach the struggles and reality of the world, they helped me through hard times and have expressed parts of myself long hidden and forgotten. I have found that even within deep fantasy and fiction the truest truths can be revealed.

What We Need ~ Where We Are

As of right now we have the full story outlined, primed and ready to go. There are two chapters completed and the rest to come as soon as more funds come in. This campaign would allow me to take the time to pour all my heart into the remaining pages of this series. I am so looking forward to completing this project with all of you. Much love ~ Breta
