The Dark Rose Charity Festival (Refuge Charity)

What We Want to Do!

Here at The Dark Rose, we want to arrange a festival for "Refuge" that consists of unsigned bands and DJ’s of various styles. We also hope to raise enough money to be able to book at least 1 signed industry act if not more. The festival will be suitable for all ages and we will have many stalls at the event ranging from craft stalls to face painting to merch and clothing stands and more.

We also want to arrange other forms of entertainment such as dancers, comedians and fire breathers. We will have activates to take part in such as bouncy castles, climbing walls, trampolines and some rides. Present at the event will be a “Kid-Pit”; this will be an area within the grounds that will be designed specifically for young children to play. There will be a variety of food courts from meat lovers to vegans.

At the event, a variety of charity information stalls will be in attendance to help raise the profile of each charity and attendees will be able to sign up or donate to these too.

We have been given The Forest Recreation Ground in Nottinghamshire to hold the festival by the Council and will be taking place on Saturday 29th of July 2017.

How We Will Do it!

The event is currently being planned but we will also arrange a group of small and dedicated volunteers to help in the planning stages of the event that will source acts, entertainment, food courts, promote and gain sponsorships. Security will be booked along with caterers, first aiders, lockers, toilets, marquees and cash machines. Licences and permits will be applied for as soon as we have the funds and meetings will be arranged with the council and emergency services straight away.

How The Funds Are Used!

All of the funds that are raised will be used to book the things that have been previously mentioned and the professional industry act(s). These fund will help us to promote and arrange the festival. We will also use the funds to give back the rewards to our donators.

About The Charity!

We are arranging this charity festival in support of Refuge. Refuge work alongside MP’s, ministers and policy-makers to ensure that all policies and legislation give the abused the protection and services that they deserve. They also lobby with the government to ensure that domestic violence remains high on the political agenda. They provide support for victims of domestic abuse (men, women and children) and they give support to “3,000 women and children on any given day” (source from the charities website).

We have highly passionate and dedicated members who try our best to make a pleasant experience for both our customers and bands. All of our members are experienced in arranging and playing live music shows and festivals. We want to change the face of the music industry. We promote unsigned acts to help them achieve their dream of becoming professional musicians.
