Campaign Story
As some of you know i have been cultivating a beard for the past few months and yes, the beard is getting longer and fuller daily. Many of you have expressed that you'd like me to keep the beard however I want to give it away for the Canadian Diabetes Association.
My sister Jamie has juvenile diabetes (Type 1 - insulin dependent) since she was 10 and as a result has led a life that many of us would struggle with. Imagine not being able to eat Halloween candy but still going door and collecting it so that she could later go room to room, patient to patient and friend to friend giving the proceeds of her efforts to those at the Children's Hospital in Ottawa who could not make it out for Halloween. That's the stuff that my sister is made of and this is for her and all of the children who live with diabetes.
I have decided to raffle the beard for a $5 donation to the Canadian Diabetes Association this Christmas. The winner gets to shave it off. The date & location of the event is TBD and dependent on the availability and location of the big winner. I will post a video of the event on this site.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this fundraiser for the Canadian Diabetes Association. We were able to raise $1330 from online and cash donations! The winner was decided by lottery this evening at midnight by my sister Jamie. The winner is... Sara Brown. Can't wait for you to collect your prize babe... The Beard is your's!

I will not be able to participate in any resulting shaving due to unmanageable distance. And also cause it's kinda icky. Therefore, I appoint Jamie my stand in Shawn-Groomer.
