Hello, my name is Terri and I am soon to be 54. This is a picture of my son holding his newborn nephew. I am divorced from my two sons father due to emotional and physical abuse. As a single parent, I worked full time and put myself through college to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. I worked very hard to take care of us. In 2004, I became very ill and weak. My then 21 year old son took me in so he could watch over me, as he had bought his own home at that time. I was in the process of obtaining my Social Security Disability Income. I had no medical coverage and no income. My son paid all of my bills and his. I could not get a medical card, because in Kentucky you must be disabled to qualify for assistance. I was finally approved after a hearing in 2009, it had taken 5 years. In those 5 years, I had been diagnosed with lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. In 2011, I developed thyroid cancer and had my thyroid removed. So far, I am cancer free. My son desperately needs living room furniture and bedroom furniture. His furniture is all second hand passed on by friends and family. He has had his dresser and chest of drawers since I was pregnant with him, and he is now almost 31. He also lost his home because he couldn't pay all the bills. He must obtain a loan for the house we are living now, and because of the foreclosure, he has a problem getting anyone to approve a loan. It would be a huge load off of his heart to get a loan. So if anyone knows a company willing to take a chance, it would be wonderful! I would love to be able to thank him for all he has done for me by surprising him with these items. He has been there for friends, neighbors and family members anytime a child needed a coat, shoes, even a birthday cake. Thank you very much!
