Textile City – Employee Fund

Textile City / Hometex has been operating for over 30 years. Since March 1st 2020, we bought this business from a long time family friend and customer who decided to go into retirement. Most of us are in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic. There are funds and government assistance in place to help with what we are currently dealing with, however most of them stipulate that the company must be running for 24 months. We registered a new business when we took over and we therefore do not qualify in this instance, even though the business exists for more that 30 years.

The employees at this shop in Northumberland Street are the heart and soul of this business. They are there 6 days a week offering sound advise and service on anything from home decor to pattern advice on a new project. We are calling on your support, although we would much rather be trading in our shop, pulling rolls off the shelves to show you, cutting just the right amount of ribbon or finding the right colour for a new dress.

Every Rand donated will go into their pockets to ensure the continuity of their employment allowing the business to re-open for trade once allowed to do so by the South African Government.

Once we re-open - everyone that has donated money will be eligible for a 15% discount when purchasing in store and 20% online (delivery can only occur after the lock down ends) - we are adding more product to our website. www.textilecity.co.za
