Here's the low down:
Hi everyone! In June 2014, I will be travelling to Vietnam for two weeks to help teach English at either a school, orphanage, or disabilities center. Over half of the population of Vietnam lives on less than $2 a day and the rest are succeptable to sliding back into poverty. Needless to say, it is very important for children to be educated, so they will have a chance to pull their family out of poverty. Knowing English is becoming a necessity in today's world, and the goal of the GVN and the volunteer teaching program is to reduce poverty and provide a better quality of life for disadvantaged children.
How YOU can help:
I am raising money to fund my trip to Vietnam. These programs do not come cheap, but the expereinces and acheivements will be well worth it. The program fee of $1,967 covers accomidations, three meals a day, airport pick up, supervision, support, and training for the two weeks. Other costs include vaccinations, travelers insurance, visas, and flight costs, which comes to roughly $2,500. The total cost for this trip will be roughly $4,000, which I obviously cannot afford by myself. Every little bit counts, even if it is just a dollar.
Thank you all so much for your help and support, it does not go unnoticed.
