Teaching and Working in Africa

Hi!

Thank you for clicking onto my fundraising page. As most of my friends and family will know, I'll be spending this Summer in Africa, teaching and working with kids in the village of Meserani(Tanzania) with Working in Tandem (WiT) - a student-led voluntary organisation which works on educational projects abroad.

WiT was founded in 2005 by students from The University of Nottingham, where I'm studying, who travelled to Tanzania and built a school. Since this time, WiT has raised thousands of pounds to support the school in its maintenance and each year a number of volunteers from Nottingham visit Tanzania to teach and work at the school. The funds I'll need to raise will go directly its in entirety to the school. It will be used to help the kids of Mererani by ensuring that new projects and resources are delivered to the school in the promise of sustaining education for kids.

I'll be going this Summer from the 20th June to the 1st August 2014, with a team of volunteers from my University. I need to raise £400 for my contribution to the school. I'll be personally taking this money over, and I'll be teaching first hand. I'm excited about working at the school, working with the kids and helping them in their education.
