Friends and family,
As anyone who is close to me knows that I am very passionate about mental health. Many people close to me are afflicted with mental health issues. I have experienced the tole it takes on family and friends, and most of all the individual. This has driven my passion. It is my desire to help these individuals and their families live a happier, healthier life that I know is possible.
When I received the email from Plan My Gap Year I was overly excited about the opportunity to experience something I love and in Africa! This will not only help me in my career as a licensed social worker, furthering my knowledge on mental health and psychology, but would be also be a true help to the people of Ghana. I will be offering skills I have gained over the years and gaining knowledge as well. Who could pass up the opportunity?!
