Tattooing School

Hello out there, I am 59 years old and single.  I have two kids, one about to graduate college, and another that is still at home.  

I am currently working as a waitress after going back to school after my kids were older... I finished a bachelors degree and went on to law school.  I took the MA bar exam four times and did not pass.  (Each time I took the exam, I had to take time off from work and pay for bar review and $1000 for the exam).

 I've tried to get a legal job for the past few years but either I'm overqualified or underqualified (as a paralegal).  I am not making enough money to survive.   

I have decided to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a tattoo artist and want to go to a school in CA which is a 6 month apprenticeship program.  I will have to sublet my apartment, drive to the West Coast, get a job as soon as possible, and attend this school 3 days a week for 6 months. I did tattooing 15 years ago and have tried to get an apprenticeship here in this area to no avail.  I have decided that going to this school will be the smartest thing I can do to build a portfolio and to learn all about tattooing.  They also guarantee placement in a shop.  

Tattoo apprenticeships are hard to find in this area.  I have been to shops and they want the best artists and they charge for apprenticeships. I currently would need money to cover the cost of relocating to the West coast for six months and an apartment.  I don't know how long it will take me to get a job once I get there. I am in dire straits financially.  My apartment is $1400 a month and my expenses (including car insurance, payment, and phone, gas, electric etc... total over $3000 a month.  I am just barely making that and now I have to save to pursue this dream. My daughter is currently living with me but will go to her fathers while I am away.  She will hopefully come out for the summer. Please help me if you can. Thanks so much. Nancy
