Tam’s Sunflowers

Im Nikki, a 45 yr old nurse, who runs all different kinds of races...... for fun. I have done a few fundraising events in the past but this is a cause really close to me. My dad passed away at the age of 82 on 1st February 2015 and I would be very grateful to be able to raise some money for two places that were very close to my dad's heart.

My plans so far are to complete these races:

• The first is the home he lived in. Methilhaven home in Buckhaven, fife is an amazing place and became his extended family. They looked after him as you would at home, down to the tiny things like putting his vaseline on his lips, combing his hair and making sure he was comfy and smelling his gorgeous self right up to the end. Running out late at night if he fancied a fish supper or taking him to church. All normal things a family would do but they always went the extra mile. He was aproper character and always had the staff laughing at his banter...... if you could understand him haha. The second cause is the church he attended for as long as I can remember. He did all sorts of work for them. Being a slater and plasterer to trade would see him fixing things or giving advice of what needed doing. He always made sure there were plenty decorations at christmas time, of which he made himself and never ever took a penny for it. He even roped me in to make 12 choir gowns in blue and white so they all looked perfect when singing. The minister Gillian Paterson would visit dad in the home when he couldnt get to church any longer and he found great comfort in that and would sit for hours chatting about things with her. The church is trying to fund a new roof and would be amazing to contribute to that. Any donation would be amazing no matter how big or small. Thank you all so much from my dad, family and I Nikki xx
