Campaign Story
Dear Friends. Bedok is a very sweet senior community cat rescued in early April as he was found with a badly injured right hind paw and bad nasal discharge. He was brought to the vet and diagnosed with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), anaemia and bad cat flu. His injury at the paw area was pinpointed to a badly infected toe which was treated with medications. He also had bad diarrhoea then. When he was certified well to be discharged, he was taken to a boarding facility to recover fully and to stay while the rescuer worked hard towards finding him a home.
Recently, his injured toe became infected again. It was bleeding, swollen and had some pus. His bad diarrhoea also came back. So he was brought back to the vet. Upon close examination and with x-rays done, a growth was seen at the infected toe. His blood test also shows he is still quite anaemic. Bedok's infected toe has to be amputated to prevent further infection and the tissue will be sent to a lab for a biopsy to determine if it is cancer.
The estimation for his surgery, biopsy, post-operation care and hospitalization is between $1500 - $2000. The final bill can only be obtained when I discharge Bedok but will be posted as soon as I get it. I have many community and rescue cats under my care, and I take care of their food, medical and boarding expenses. Hence, any additional funds received for Bedok will be of great help and I wish to seek your help in raising this fund.
Thank you very much from the bottom of our hearts.
Gratefully,
Felicia & Bedok

Bedok's Biopsy Report
Update posted by Felicia Peck at 12:29 pmBedok has basal cell carcinoma. The cancer tumour presumably arose from the toe nail but the lab is doing further test on the bone specimen to determine this and to evaluate tumour cell infiltration. We will stay positive for Bedok and keep him as comfortable as possible. For now, our

Bedok...Post-Op Day 2
Update posted by Felicia Peck at 01:01 pmBedok's amputated wound is healing well. However, the poor boy has a new symptom. He is squinting in his left eye. Upon examination, the vet found a few ulcers, likely due to his history of having flu and the stress of the surgery could have also caused a flare-up. He. . . . .
