Surprise my Dying Grandma

Hey-I am unsure of how to tell my story. I am currently an undergrad college student hoping to visit my Grandma for her last 4th of July. My Grandma has always been my role model; she is a badass. She graduated valedictorian, raised four kids, is a published author and a loving woman.I remember one time a motorcycle rider told her to hurry up in line while paying for gas. She promptly turned around and told him that she was "too old to be bothered by the likes of him". Needless to say, I love her. When she was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, the doctor told her she had four years to live. Eight years later she is still alive! She is not doing well, unfortunately. While she would never admit the pain, I see it. Her knee surgery four years ago left her with chronic knee pain, and her leukemia exhausts her to the point that she cannot walk more than a few blocks without needing to rest.I am hoping to surprise her in Wyoming for the 4th of July, her favorite holiday. She has an annual BBQ for her neighbors to show her appreciation for their help through the year. If I can go, I would love to then take her to the place she has always wanted to visit, New Orleans! While it is risky to travel with her, her doctors have given their permission for travel. She expressed to me that she does not want to stay cooped up in her house during this part of her life; she wants to live! And I see this trip as exactly that. I would love to see the expression on her face when I can surprise her for her favorite holiday then take her on a trip to her dream spot. I want to show my Grandma how much she means to me. Typically I would not ask for money; I would ask for this trip for my birthday. But recent family circumstances left me with an estranged Father and my Mom unemployed. I work 20 hours a week in between my studies as a full-time college student. I am already overwhelmed with student loans but fear I would miss out on one of my last opportunities to see my Grandma if I cannot see her in July.
