Thank you to every one who has taken the time to come to this page that I have set up! I am so hopeful that, together, all of us can make a positive difference in this family's life. My goal is for all of us to be able to raise a bit of money to alleviate some of the stress this family is feeling after their loss. I know money cannot bring their loved one back, however, it can help to pay bills and minimize the need to worry about money so that they can go through this difficult time a little easier. Also, we can all let them know they have our support! Below is a little more information about Tony Spauding. He is the true inspiration for this fund and I hope I have been able to explain why.

In the early morning of January first, when most people had just finished ringing in the new year and were thinking about all of the hopes and aspirations that normally come from a sort of 'new beginning' or 'fresh start', Tony Spaulding was violently taken from our world. I imagine there really are no words that can accurately describe his family's grief, shock and sadness to learn of Tony's fate. Having a young daughter of my own, it is very difficult for me to wrap my mind around what they are going through.

Here are some beautiful words Tony's family shared about him in his obituary. I have included a link to his obituary online under the 'comments' section:

"Tony was actively enrolled in the New England Institute of Art pursuing his degree in audio engineering. Tony was a talented musician playing the guitar, piano, trombone, and his beloved drums. He had a beautiful, soulful voice. He loved engineering recordings-movie soundtracks and live artists. He had the most amazing ear for sound. He was so young but had found his passion in music. Music was his healing. His greatest gift, however, was his ability to touch so many lives with his acceptance, love, and encouragement."

I did not personally know Tony very well, but I will tell you the things I remember about him and how he made me feel. I am a very strong believer that most people do not remember the words you say or your exact actions you take, however they will always remember how you made them feel. I knew Tony about, maybe 8 years ago. He would come with his mother to the horse farm where she worked and where I worked as well. We didn't really say very much to each other, myself being the quiet type and him seeming to be that way at the time as well. What I do remember very clearly about Tony, and it is the very first thing I thought of when I read the news of his passing, is how he made me feel...happy and, well, just good. I didn't KNOW him, but I knew he was a gentle soul. He was warm and kind and always had a mysterious twinkle in his eye. I knew this because it completely radiated out of him. I'm sure anyone who knew him closely would have to agree, because although I have not seen Tony in quite some time, I know that this is not something that dissapears or changes as you grow older, that is who you are.

So, having just related to you how Tony, just by being himself, was able to make such a positive impression on someone who didn't even really know him and by hardly even needing to say anything- how amazing is that? How amazing is Tony? I am asking you to take a little time to be thankful for Tony, and for the other Tonys in your own lives. Whether they are someone close to you or simply a stranger who makes you feel the way Tony made me feel, just be thankful. In honor of Tony and in respect for his family, we should spread our own kindess to others and strive to make eachother feel...good. Just even a smile, at very least, spread your beautiful smiles. You never truly know how you may be positively affecting their life without even knowing it.

Thank you, Tony.

Also, his family would like to add that the money will be used for his two younger special needs sisters, whom he loved dearly! Please spread the word by sharing this page with others!

100% of all funds raised will be given directly to the Spaulding family imediately following the end date! Let's do this guys!

I also highly encourage everyone who's life he positively touched to share their stories! Please message me if you have any ideas or suggestions, or your own stories you would like me to add!

  • We just want to thank Kerry for her caring so much for us and the incredible giving of herself to this project. And to everyone for all their kind words and support during this terribly difficult time. It's God and friends like you that are making it bearable. We would like to add that Tony had 2 younger sisters with special needs. Maria and Hannah. He loved them very much and was a wonderful big brother. All funds will be put in a special needs trust to be used only for their needs. Thank you for being such wonderful people. There is still good in this world. ........

  • Hi everyone, I wanted to add a link to Tony's Obituary, unfortunately the page wouldn't allow me to include it for some reason. Here is a link to the page:http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130106/OBITS02/301060336

  • Randie and Tony worked at our barn for years. Loved watching such a wonderful mother/son team. Tony also worked at the barn over the summers. He was quiet, but did have that twinkle in his eye. He was kind and compassionate to all. Tony and Bud did lots of "special barn projects" together.
