Support students’ architectural guide around Vietnam

Hello everyone,

We are a team of two childhood friends Barbora and Andrea from Prague, Czech republic.
Both currently studying, one architecture and urbanism and the other architecture and building engineering. We both enjoy the combination of travelling/exploring and architecture and that’s how we decided for this enormous plan that we’d like to share here with you. __________________________________________________________________________________

THE PLAN is to capture VIETNAMESE ARCHITECTURE, both in city and in the rural area. Since Vietnam is getting slowly but steadily popular with tourists, we would like to sum up the important in an ARCHITECTURAL GUIDE. This will bring more architectural knowledge to a wider audience and hopefully a better understanding. We'd like to deliver a publication which you can now be part of and therefore you might be the first one to read it.

More specifically, we would stay between 4 and 5 weeks, starting off in Hanoi and its rural areas, and then consequently moving to the southern parts of Vietnam, with stops in the cities (Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An,..) but also the western parts with the unique architecture of mountain villages. Basically spend our time researching, drawing sketches, taking pictures, measuring, comparing, interviewing the locals, participating in building process if we are lucky…and later on, after arrival we would like to sum it up in the online PUBLICATION with our own text, photos and graphic design.
Our priority is not to travel Vietnam through and through, rather staying longer at the place until we have the feeling the research has been done properly.

Your help will go to the flight tickets, visa, health insurance and vaccination. If we happen to spare some, it will cover other transportation costs within the country but we prefer not to use it to live in fancy hotels.

What concerns our background, we both went on international courses (Milano, Valencia, Madrid, Istanbul), did architectural internships abroad (Paris, Vienna), also studied on exchange in Asia (Singapore and South Korea), so we believe this is the next step we should take :)
