US$666.00raised of $600.00 goal goal
Living with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) in a third world country like Pakistan is not easy. Lack of awareness, lack of proper health care facilities, and lack of health insurance all add to the misery of patients.
Rehana’s Story with MS
36-year-old Rehana from Bahawalpur was diagnosed with MS in 1999 when she was only 18 years old. She has been living with the disease for over 17 years now. Due to lack of awareness, lack of treatment, and lack of proper health care facilities, Rehana lost vision in her left eye completely. For years, doctors were not able to diagnose her illness, so she could not start medication. Over time, she lost power in her limbs and is wheelchair bound now. Rehana is confined due to her disability and with 4 small children, she has no one to turn to. Her husband earns a mere $200 wage per month which can hardly make ends meet.
MS Treatment is Expensive
Medication for Multiple Sclerosis is very expensive. Since Multiple Sclerosis is a long-term illness that has no known cure, treatment and therapy have to be continued by patients for the rest of their lives.
About this Fundraiser
This fundraiser is being organized by the Society for Multiple Sclerosis Patients in Pakistan to help raise funds for the treatment of underprivileged MS patients in Pakistan. The Society for MS Patients in Pakistan is working with hundreds of deserving patients like Rehana who are living with Multiple Sclerosis. You can also make a difference with your contribution and help provide medication to eligible MS patients in Pakistan.
Fundraiser Goal
The goal here is to raise $600 to provide 12 months medication supply for Rehana, at the rate of $50 per month. Any extra funds raised will be used to provide steroids and medication to other deserving MS patients.
