00Support an aspiring Para Archer representing Singapore in Para Games
Marius Madsen, born in Singapore in 2005, was a First Dan in Taekwondo by the age of 14. However, a near-fatal accident left him paralysed from the waist down at the age of 15, leading him to switch from Taekwondo to Archery.
Marius is a promising para archer currently training with Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) Developmental Program and aspiring to represent Singapore in the Para Games. The SDSC's Para Games Developmental Program include: ASEAN Para Games, World Championships/World Cup, Asian Para Games and Paralympic Games. I am reaching out to you today to appeal for your support towards his Para Games archery journey.
The journey to the Para Games is not an easy one, and it requires a significant amount of financial support. This is where I am hoping that you can help. The purpose of this fund raiser is to seek funds to help Marius purchase a set of equipment and training expenses. As a competitive archer, equipment wear and tear and equipment failure is not uncommon, and having a backup set is essential to ensure that he can continue to compete at the highest level. Marius does not have the financial means to make the purchase on his own, and he is counting on the generosity of donors to help him achieve his goal.
Your generous donation of SGD 38,912 will help Marius cover the cost of equipment and his training expenses to prepare him to compete on the global stage. The below table shows how this amount will be utilised, prepared with the assistance of Marius' coach at SDSC.
Marius is also currently a Trauma Ambassador and Patient Spokesperson with NUH Paediatric Ward where he gives speeches to parents and young children who are undergoing treatment. By volunteering, Marius hopes that he can better assist and inspire them to remain strong during difficult times.
