I have partnered with Ariana Avila of the Santa Maria Good Samaritan Shelter to help kick off a fundraiser for their After School Program.
The kids in the program are residents of the shelter, many of whom are in transition, temporary or long-term housing at the shelter with their families. This year, the ASP was not allocated an OpEx budget, leaving the kids without the resources they need to help them succeed during the school year and to empower their growth in the long run.
The funds raised will be used towards school supplies, arts & crafts supplies, and snack time! The supplies and food purchased will also be centered around teaching the kids mindfulness and being creative. This includes using recycled and organic materials, such as paper and dyes and the foods used for snack time will be carefully curated to incorporate seasonal foods and fresh produce. If we, as adults, strive for healthy and mindful eating, why don’t they deserve this too?
No matter where you grew up or currently reside, I hope you take a moment to donate to this fund. The children of local communities need us, as well as the children of the world. Now here’s an optimal place to begin!
The ASP is located at 401 W Morrison Ave., Building C in Santa Maria, CA, and operates Monday-Friday 2:30-5:00 PM and from 1:30-5:00 PM on Thursdays. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at my Gmail [email protected] or Ariana Avila at [email protected] goodsamaritanshelter. org (spaces intentional here).
I appreciate you for taking the time to visit this page and for donating, thank you!
