Superhero tom’s super fundraiser

Thomas O Riordan is my 5 year old cousin who enjoys his cartoons and loves his adventures like most little boys his age. Over the last week Tom has been diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma, a rare form of cancer found predominetly in children and young adult males. My family are from County Cork, Southern Ireland where unfortunately the right specialists and consultants who can help tom with this and perform the procedures he will require are over 3 hours away in Dublin. As I'm sure you can imagine, this has placed a massive strain on Thomas' family, both emotionally and financially. Not only can tom not go through this within the comforts of his home and around the familiar faces he has come to know but his parents, grandparents and the rest of his family are having to commute - often daily, taking it in turns to ensure Tom is kept in good company throughout this daunting and scary time. Being such a tough, brave little boy, Thomas has inspired me to take part in the Jane Tomlinson 10k run in Leeds on July 12th 2015, all being well I aim to raise some additional funds for tom and his family to ideally make things more comfortable for them at this tough time. I understand times are tough for folk and we work to pay our bills and make our way through life, however if you can please support me and my family with this I would be eternally grateful. Tom is going to be needing extensive surgery, provisions to help him through this, finances to enable his closest to be with him throughout this and no extra stress about money. Knowing that there is a tough little boy who is going to win this battle will spur me- knowing I've your support will make this whole thing so much more worth while.
