Studying Abroad in Barcelona

I've been dreaming of traveling the world since I was a little girl. I was born in the United States but raised in Mexico. I love having the cultural experience I gained and being part of two different cultures yet they were linked in some way. I want to experience that culture knowledge and be part of a different country that has so much history to tell about my roots. I will be in a Summer Program in Barcelona with fellow students and we will visiting important places after each class and learn about the subject discussed that day in class. I am excited about this program because I will have the opportunity to be around the city and learn about the host city during one month. In addition, I will be doing laundry, grocery shopping and many other things as a resident. This experience will be significant for both my majors in Social Work and Spanish because of the history I will learn about Spain I will learn and the closer look I will have of cultural competency where as a social worker I need to understand the way people function in different cultures and their reactions and respect them as individuals.
