On 12/15/13, Susie Mettler and Morgan Jury were sled riding at Riverview Park in Madison. Susie slammed head 1st into a tree & fractured her neck and back in 5 places and was seriously hurt. She had a few surgeries to date.
Susie is currently undergoing rehab therapy at MetroHealth Medical Center. She has made great strides and continues to improve; however, she has had a few ups and downs as well but she continues to wow us with that smile and her strong spirit.
Susie is a twin to her sister Jenny and is part of a very close- knit family. The Mettlers consist of Chuck; Tina (Dad and Mom) and the kids: Travis, Susie and Jenny. The Mettlers were involved in the 4-H community for many, many years. When you join 4-H you join a community, a family.
Both Susie and Jenny are very good athletes and are seniors at Perry High School. They have excelled at all they have done.
Great news - Susie and Tina will be going home around March 20th/21st-ish.
The Mettlers will have to have their house modified to help Susie when she is ready to come home. All plans have been approved so it is just a matter of time before the ground breaking begins.
A sign-up sheet has been created as well if you would like to take the Mettler family a meal down at Metro! http://www.takethemameal.com/meals.php?t=PTZB3150.
This quote was on Jenny's Facebook account and it pretty much sums up all that is going on:
“Plan B” isn’t about ditching the dream. “Plan B” is about achieving your goals in a different way than you anticipated, and possibly in ways you never would
