In February of 2017 I traveled from Buffalo, NY to Piedras Negras, Mexico to be with my husband who choose to voluntarily deport from the U.S for overstaying a visa. I left behind my son, family and friends with the hopes of returning to the U.S in at least 4 months. I am currently carrying our first child together and I felt that it was my duty to stand by my husband regardless of the situation he faced. We live in an apartment building, about a 15 minute walk from the U.S border which crosses over into Eagle Pass, Texas. I had hopes on finding a job in Texas before I began to show with my pregnancy and file an application on my husbands behalf to acquire residency in the U.S.

I am currently 5 months pregnant and i have lost all hope of finding a job here and I feel as though I have been away from my son for too long. He is staying with my mother for now and I intend on bringing him here with me after the school year ends in June. However, i do not see how any of this is possible when I am not working and the average salary for working here in Mexico is about 70 U.S dollars per week. The money I came to Mexico with is dwindling down to nothing and i fear that will will soon lose our house and be forced to live with one of my husbands family members which I cannot risk. It is most important that I am located close to the border so that i do not give birth here in Mexico, which will prevent my child from entering the U.S.

At this point I am unsure what to do, any help or kind words would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for listening....
