Stepping out in faith on our TTC journey – #Fertilitytreatment

My name is Jeantelle (age 31). My husband, Delyn, and I have been on our TTC for a year after having to put off our plans off for a while following my diagnosis with Pulmonary Embolisms in 2017.

In October 2019, after experiencing anovulation most of the year, I decided to make an appointment with my gynae. To my disappointment I was diagnosed with PCOS and started Femara immediately. My next doctors appointment was booked for November and I was unfortunately met with more disappointing news.

My gynae then decided to put me on Clomid, but this too failed. My body is resistant to the medication and for this reason I have been referred to a fertility specialist. It seems like I am going to need a bit more help in conceiving a baby.

With medical aids not covering any form of fertility treatment, the cost for IUI can range anything between R8000 to R15000 and IVF between R30 000 and R60 000 per round. This excludes any testing, consultation fees and medication.

As you can imagine the high treatment cost is just something we are unable to afford and we are therefore stepping out in faith by asking everyone to assist in making our hearts desire a reality.

We know that our TTC journey is part of God's greater plan for us and a means of testing our faith. As a couple our mutual love for God has blessed our marriage over the past 6 years and this test of faith will strengthen us even more.

For this reason we know that God will answer our prayers and we know that we will be parents someday. All in God's perfect timing and plan.

We are constantly being reminded that we live by faith and not by what we see and know that where there is unity, a blessing is commanded.

Our prayer is that every cent raised and used for our fertility treatments will bring us one step closer of becoming parents one day.
