Steamboat awaits Sandy

Hello  we are trying to raise funds to get Sandy Roberts to steamboat Springs Colorado from Albuquerque.  First let me explain why.  In 1999 Sandy was hired by Fedex on a part-time basis.  In February 2000 her mother that lived in Michigan had a stroke that left her completely bedridden and unable to care for herself.  Sandy put her life on hold to take care of a mother that had disowned her for over 26 years and who she had only seen 3 times in those 26 years.  This was because of Sandy being a gay woman andher mother a devout Jehovah's Witness.  Anyway Sandy went to Michigan and moved her mother to Albuquerque and spent the next 11 years taking care of her hand feeding her,carrying her to and from the bathroom, showering her andbeing at her becon call by the push of a button when her mother needed her.  Also working for Fedex in the evenings on a part-time 20 hr a week bacis. Over the coarse of the 11 years 4 full-time positions came available and she had to turn them down because of her promise to take care of her mother.

In 2010 her mother died and there has not been any full-time positions open that she could take.  And her hours still remained around 20hrs per week and she was finding it harder and harder to survive on that small amont of money.  In 2013 she started looking outside of Albuquerque for a position with Fedex with full-time hours and she finally has found one and the position has been offered to her.  She has to move from Albuquerque to Steamboat Springs Colorado.  She has to be there to start work on Dec 16th 2013 she has not been able to save any money because she was barely bringing home enough to cover the bills.

We are asking if you could please donate any amount you can afford, because any little bit will help.  The cost of living is higher there. Steamboat Springs got 400 inches of snow last winter and has snow from Halloween to Easter.  One needs a 4x4 to get around.  The $6000 we are looking to raise will get her to Steamboat Spring, pay for 1 months rent and damage deposit and allow her to get a used 4x4 vehicle.
