Starting to Panic…

I am a single mother, 20 years old, with a 9 month old, I stayed in school and am one semester away from starting nursing school, I am doing everything I can to better our future. I work some weekends making minimum wage and 90% of my income goes towards gas or diapers and personal needs. I do not reciave any other type of financial assistance.

My family was displaced for Katrina now nearing the 7 year anniversary of Katrina I find myself in the same situation from seven years back only now with a child, no money in the bank, and on my own. Tropical strom issac, seems like it has become a threat to us. The last few nights it seems like reality has hit me , I am not prepared for any of this how am i going to evacuate, this is just icing on the cake for a financial crsis for a determined single mother. I really just need help, anything will help, it adds up, even if we are spared from this storm it just opens my eyes of how important it is to be prepared and have some emergency money because now I am in a panic, I have not only myself to protect but my baby also.

We are safe, made it through Isaac, realized I do not want to go through 4 days without electricity with an infant, and potentially be in harms way.

I have also made the decesion to try and move away from an abusive situation, my child's father is physically and above all verbally abusive, I am constantly being put down even though I try my hardest and provide for my daughter.

My goal is to raise money so that I have money to fall back on in case of an emergency and to be able to have a sense of relief, also I would like to move me and my daughter to another state, so that I can start nursing school and be free of all this negativity and abuse.

Christmas and her birthday are also right around the corner and I am so stressed. I do not want to let her down.
