Campaign Story
4 Students (2 Females and 2 Males) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Westville Campus started an initiative to farm organic vegetables to feed underprivileged students as well as teach other students that they can take care of themselves sustainably. Together with two non-student ladies the team secured a 3 hectare piece of land under the company name Ideal Earth Movement NPC, the land is for working on for which we are still awaiting soil test results from the UKZN Agriculture Campus in Pietermaritzburg to see which of the essential crops we can focus on, this is in advisory of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) of the College of Agriculture, Engineering and Science (CAES) of UKZN; Prof Albert Modi.
Should we hit the $40,000.00 target before or by the end date, it would be really great and we'll have the farm running to start producing and serving the needy students before year end 2018.
