St Lucia Orphan Care Project

I have always been heavily involved with volunteer work, whether it's assisting at a club for stroke patients, or helping to run a University society for children with disabilities, and working at an orphange in Africa is the type of project I have always hoped to take part in. I have been given an amazing opportunity to volunteer at an orphanage in South Africa this summer where I will be able to work with the children, as well as take part in community projects and raise HIV/AIDs awareness.

"The work of volunteers is vital to the ongoing success of the orphanage and the continued fight to improve the lives and education of these vulnerable children". I hope as a volunteer to be able to make an indelible mark at the orphange and provide the children with the one-to-one care they desperately need.

The programme does however come at a large cost, where a considerable proportion of the money I have been requested to raise, goes directly to the orphanage. Further to this, I need to cover the costs of both my flights and any additional materials I wish to take with me. If you are able to donate even just a small amount to this fantastic cause, it would be so greatly appreciated by both me and the children.
