I am trying to raise money for my trip to Sir Lanka next summer where I will be volunteering with their turtle conservation group.

Within this there are many duties that I will be participating in during my stay. The duties include;

–Cleaning and refilling the turtle tanks
– Feeding the turtles
– Painting and drawing in and around the wall about turtles.
– Cleaning the project premises and the relevant beach area.
– Take care of the nesting area
– Cleaning the turtle’s shells.
– Collecting turtle eggs and bringing them to a safe location for them to hatch
– Re-releasing hatched baby turtles into the sea
– Taking the turtles out of their tanks to spend time with them on the beach

There are also other opportunities such as, attending a seminar that is conducted by sea turtle conservation specialists to discuss the issues surrounding sea turtle conservation, and sea turtle conservation education sessions where a group including myself will be educating the younger generations about these amazing creatures.
