Sri Lanka Trip

WHAT I'M DOING. I'm taking part in a number of fundraising activities  in aid of my trip to Sri Lanka in order to help pay for the cost of this amazing opportunity. The first exercise will be walking from 4pm-6am in my local school on Friday the 24th April, any donations to help pay for us to go and help people and animals less fortunate than us would be greatly appreciated.  INFORMATION ON MY TRIP I'm taking part in a fantastic opportunity to be part of a cultural awareness and leadership project which involves a two week visit to Sri Lanka. The proposed trip will take place in the first four weeks of the summer holiday, in 2015.   My destination in Sri Lanka is Ambalangoda, the Galle District in the Southern Province. The two teams will travel with a company called Plan My Gap Year. They have already created a tailor made itinerary for us and will have representatives there to support and accompany us during our stay.  Please do have a look at their website. www.planmygapyear.co.uk The goals of the trip is to develop my cultural awareness, to engender leadership skills and to educate me in a new and exciting environment. The team will be working in the local community in Ambalangoda. Typical tasks that we will carry out will include helping in local schools with the opportunity to teach English to Sri Lanka students  and practical support, such as renovating classrooms. In addition, there will be conservation opportunities at a turtle and Elephant sanctuary. Thank you Kyran
