My name is Linda. And this is my 'TheCar'sBrokenDownAndNowICannotGetToWhereINeedToBe' Campaign.
Everyone's had one of them - a time when you are merrily chugging down the highway; without warning - a soft little Pphtt. Then nothing. You come to a standstill. Left wondering, 'What just happened there?'
This is me - only it's not a car, it's my accommodation. I finally have the job I need and want, and begin on Monday 22nd May. Ironically, a month after the lease on the old house-share expired, the plans to transfer into a new one have not worked as well in real-life as was down on paper.
In between homes, but on the doorstep of a new career, I am currently staying in temporary accommodation. It is not too bad, a bit like boarding school but my best option for the next two weeks.
The problem is this - I have no cash left, I only get my first payroll funding on the 2nd June.
In my mission to find some Cash-in-hand work, I have found a 2nd job to supplement my income - but same concept - payroll funding is a two week wait.
You may well ask - 'Well why have you got no cash? That's not a very good plan!'
To which I say - 'Yes indeed, you are right it's a really bad plan. Simple fact really - the job I had in place two weeks ago to ensure I had the cash now was that 'soft little Pphtt'. Now I am here. At a standstill on the Highway of Life.'
Assistance to cover the cost of my hostel bed for 2 weeks would be appreciated.
