Hello my friend,

Thank you for taking the time to view my fund raising page, I hope you enjoy reading about me…

I am born and raised on the island of Jersey and I am 31 years of age. Being a small island there is very little scope in terms of job variation and the island is grossly geared towards finance - banking, trust and fund management, this is what I have always done.

I have worked for several banks and financial institutions since I left school at 18 and in the past year I have found myself doing a lot of soul searching, having become very discontented working within offices.

I have carried an enormous care for animals and their welfare all my life. I am extremely passionate about them and have always wanted to make a difference in their lives. I have come to realise that animal conservation, especially big cat conservation is where my heart belongs and that this is without any doubt my true calling in life.

Subsequently my goal now is to turn away from finance and devote myself by full emerging myself in wildlife conservation, specialising in big cats. Without a veterinary degree my path to achieving this is to do a South African Game Ranger Internship at a location near to Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Spending my time on the reserve I will be volunteering and studying for my Game Ranger Qualification (FGASA). The volunteer work will be focused on wildlife and conservation, learning about the environment and learning about the animals & plants that South Africa has to offer.

When achieved, I am looking to work on a sanctuary in Free State, South Africa (near to Kimberley) that I have identified as enabling me to provide direct service to animal conservation. It is a wild cat sanctuary that focuses on cheetahs, leopards, lions, African wild cats and caracals. Here I will be rehabilitating and helping release them, in addition to helping educate and provide people with a better understanding of the perils facing African wildlife.

Please help me in providing a service to others in the form of service to animals through their welfare and conservation, by donating and helping me obtain the education to do so.

Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart,

Jonathan Jenkins
