Snowy is a 4.5-months old male Pomeranian puppy. We fell in love with him immediately when we first saw him on the 10th Jan 2022

Snowy waiting to go home

We decided to give him a forever-home with us. He arrived on the 11th January 2022. He was so playful and active, yet obedient when sitting on our laps.

Snowy found his chilling spot

However, everything changed on the 16th January 2022. Snowy started coughing. We did everything we can to make him feel better but on the next day, he started showing other symptoms like vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargic and heavy panting.

His condition alarmed us and so we book an appointment to see the vet on 18th January 2022 morning 1100hr.

When we got to the vet, Snowy was barely responsive. The doctor quickly did checks on him including an x-ray scan.

Snowy was having a slight fever at 39.7℃. (Normal temperature range from 38.5 to 39.2 ℃, explained by the vet).

He was having low blood sugar due to the loss of appetite.

His x-rays also showed signs of inflammation in the lungs.

Snowy's X-ray showing pneumonia. (white hairy-like things in the lungs, healthy lungs will appear black. Explained to us by the vet.)

Snowy was barely responsive, the vet strongly recommend Snowy be hospitalized for intensive care as he is a very young puppy where the immune system is not robust yet.. Snowy was given IV drip and medication and will be kept under observation. We were allowed to visit Snowy at 1800hr later in the day.

To this date, 19th January 2022, he is at the vet's clinic. He still had bouts of coughing and vomiting. We visit him daily but he is not jovial and energetic as before.

Snowy still feeling weak on 19th January 2022

This really tortured us emotionally. Also we are burdened by the fact that the bills in 1 day is almost S$1000, the vet mentioned that it could take at least 1 week before Snowy is well enough to be discharged to recover at home.

We would like to reach out to your kind hearts to help our Snowy go through this. Any amount is greatly appreciated. We will use the funds to pay for Snowy medical bills and post-discharge care. Any excess from donations will given to Animal rescue organizations in Singapore.
