Smiles for Seniors

Whether you are elderly or disabled, life in a nursing home can be incredibly lonely. Even in facilities with the most dedicated workers and top-quality programs, many seniors go weeks or years without contact from family or outside friends. Coupled with loss of independence, their daily existence is often one of isolation and despair. Approximately 40% of nursing home residents suffer from depression, according to the American Geriatrics Society.

However, a simple act of kindness can bring great joy. Smiles for Seniors is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to remembering our elderly and/or disabled in nursing homes through gifts and visits. We help senior citizens across Cincinnati. Making an elderly person’s day just a little brighter and happier is our ultimate goal.

You can be the light in someone's darkness. No donation is too small. Monetary donations will be used solely for the purpose of purchasing specific gifts/items not provided by the nursing home or family. All volunteers and board members provide their services for no pay.

All donations are deductible for federal income tax purposes under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.
