Campaign Story
Our small computer support and repair business provides a service to many poor people in our area. Many of our clients are old age pensioners, and many of our clients are rural African people who earn very little. We provide a free service to young people seeking jobs by allowing them to prepare CVs for free. We have a few business customers, but not enough to sustain our business. We also provide Internet Access to school children whose families can not afford it, so that they may complete school projects.
Our challenge is that whereas our turnover is sufficient for us to survive from month to month, it is not adequate for us to update our equipment. Our colour laser printer is on its last legs, and some of the computers are more than ten years old. Since we provide services that are otherwise unobtainable in our area, we feel that there is a need for us to be here. Unfortunately, without some extra funding, we may have to close.
