In April, I will be going to Slovenia with 6 other St. Mary's College Master of the Arts in Teaching students to participate in an unpaid teaching abroad internship at Gimnazija Bezigrad, a secondary school in Ljubljana for six weeks. As the only world language candidate in the program, I am looking forward to traveling to one of the most multilingual countries in Europe. Going into the trip, I'm hoping to introduce and expand Spanish and Mandarin Chinese in the school's growing language program, as well as return from the trip with foundations of the Slovene language. We will also have the opportunity to take a language course at the University of Ljubljana during our stay. I want to leave the internship with a new teaching and learning experience for world language outside the walls of an American classroom, especially to teach languages that are not offered in the regular curriculum. Any donations towards making this trip possible (for flights, room & board) are tremendously appreciated! ?? Thank you!!!
