Campaign Story
Skylar Anderson was our son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend. His story is one that needs to be told (and retold) in hopes that it may affect and save the life of another afflicted with Type 1 Diabetes.
Sky was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in June of 2014. He was 35 years old at the time of his diagnosis, and it was quite a shock to him due to his age, active nature, and athletic physique. He had a very hard time coming to terms with his diagnosis, and it caused him to question everything; "Why me, why now, how do I do this?" he would ask. None of us had the answers, but kept telling him we would be there for him, and we'd learn about it with him. He was resilient though, and pushed through. He got back to playing soccer three times a week, and changed his diet as well.
