Simon (the Not So Wild) is a 3 year old feral cat in our Colony of three rescued, neutered, and released cats. We have TNR nine feral cats in the last 4 years, finding homes for 6 so far! Simon is a orange tabby, this guy loves to be scratched and falls over to have his stomach rubbed, so he's Not So Wild as our other two (his mother and brother). We have been working with him to be able to find a home for him when I noticed a growth on his neck which grew so quickly. Contacting PAWS (we are part of their TNR program) they asked me to bring him in for a check up which resulted in a diagnosis of a tumor. PAWS was not able to perform the surgery and sent us to Dr Basran of the Logan Square Animal Hospital. He examined Simon and told us he needed surgery immediately, the tumor had grown to a smaller than a baseball in such a short time. He said that it was cutting off his feeding and pushing against his esophagus which in turn would crush it. It is shocking to get such news and we followed the Doctor's recommendation for immediate surgery. He came through the surgery very well and is now recovering in our home, and seems to be enjoying his stay and recovery and getting along, mostly with our other 4 (indoor) rescued cats while healing and us feeding him to gain weight. I would like to add how much we have appreciated Dr Basran for caring for Simon, I would highly recommend his services at Logan Square Animal Hospital. Our Vet has recently retired and it has been difficult finding another great Vet and for us, it is worth the long drive to the northside of Chicago. We also appreciate Erika at PAWS for recommending Dr. Basrum and Go Get Funding

We are requesting assistance in paying the $900.00 surgery and biopsy bill. We've been rescuing cats for the last 18 years but this bill was overwhelming for us, my husband has recently returned to work after 9 1/2 layoff. We would appreciate any assistance with this bill.
