Silence acts out!

We want to bring to your attention that Silence is raising a fund of $300,000 in 2022 to be able to continue providing the following services:

• Sign Language interpretation services
• vocational training and job matching; and
• family counseling, parent education, and related services.

You are probably aware of the constant difficulties that deaf people and people who are hard of hearing in their daily lives in Hong Kong. Despite the modest size of our organization, we have been fighting for justice, empowering our deaf and hard of hearing members, and assisting them in thriving despite their disabilities. All the services that we provide and operations require a sustained source of income. However, Silence does not receive regular funding from the Social Welfare Department (SWD). This is why we humbly request that you assist us in our fundraising effort by donating money in order for us to continue carrying our mission to help the Deaf and the hard of hearing in Hong Kong.

During the period from 1^st Dec 2020 to 12^th Feb 2022, we are organizing an online fundraising event along with our 12^th Feb 2022 Silence Flag Day.

ABOUT SILENCE:

Silence is a registered HK Charity under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance and is also a member of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. Since we lack of government funding, we rely on the donation from the general public and various foundations’ support to further our development and mission to service the hearing impaired. We need your continuous support in the form of financial or resource donation.

We serve the deaf and hard of hearing, aiming to inspire and unleash individual talent and harness collective strength. In doing so, we aspire to build a harmonious and barrier-free world.
