Three years ago my mother Shirley Pittman had several sever strokes that have left her unable to walk, speak or feed herself. Prior to her strokes, she was lively, beautiful and the bell of the ball whatever room she walked in as most of you know.

The last 12 months she has been under Hospice care at home with my dad Robert as her caregiver, besides help from family and other caretakers that are privately paid for out of my parents retirement fund. My dad is 85 and this daily care is quickly wearing on him.

This necessary care has eliminated any additional expenses that is incurred for daily living i.e, heating in winter, property taxes...the list goes on. Their monthly income is close to proverty level and without the help of family, I am not sure what they would do.

What mom is needing is help with medical transport to an appointment to her dermatologist to get this skin cancer growth (see above photo) removed from her eye that my dad cannot afford and hospice cannot take care of for them.

We cannot transport her in a car due to her bedsore and the weak condition she is in.
