Campaign Story
I’m Edison Balajadia and this strong woman here is the source of our strength, our mom, Elizabeth C. Balajadia.
Last 2015,she was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer 2B. She underwent chemotherapy, radiation therapy and brachy therapy, and after months and cycles of therapy, she got better. Or so we thought.
It was the last quarter of 2018 when she started complaining of severe chest and back pain. January of 2019 when we rushed her to the hospital as she can’t bear the pain anymore.
We first feared it was metastasis of her cancer from before but after different tests done, it was found out to be “Tuberculosis of the bone”. We were so devastated when we learned the news. She stayed in the hospital for 11 days and our initial bill amounted to Php302,211. This has been settled already through the help of family and friends.
For her condition, she needed to undergo radiation which caused “active colon bleeding”. She also has undergone “colonoscopy” (to determine if she has colon cancer because of the active bleeding), and MRI (she suffered mild stroke) and the doctors found an estimated 10mL of blood accumulated in her brain. With these, she needed to be admitted again as she suffers from continuous passing out of blood in her anal area, pale appearance, and difficulty in breathing. She needs blood donation to harvest the needed apheresis platelet (Type B+) to make her stable. Each bag of donated blood needs P15,000 for processing in harvesting the platelets. She needs continuous supply of apheresis until her platelet count normalizes since she has “active colon bleeding” and a blood transfusion (packed RBC) due to “low hemoglobin count”. Even if we find donors, it will be hard for us to find the fund to process all the needed bags of blood.
As of February 11, 2019 our current/running bill excluding professional fees is P361.259.69 and I don’t know what to do anymore since our family is not financially capable. With this, we humbly ask your help in gathering funds for my mom. We sincerely knocking on your kind hearts to please join us with her battle and raise funds which will support her ongoing and future medical costs.
