Hi to all!

My name is Mary Anne Tayag.

As far as I can remember, only a few memories are kept with me with my father (Nick Tayag). You see, my dad started working at the United States from January 1992 - May 2012; 20 years of sacrificing for our family. So, that is basically 5mos after I was born (July 1991) that he forced himself to leave us to get a better opportunity and give us a life that he dreamt for his children. He succeeded and we were able to finish our education and now work as professionals.

Last 2007 or much earlier, life turned 360 on him and he was diagnosed to have hypertension and thus his kidneys started to fail him. He went through all the necessary treatments just for him to be well again, and truly God did not fail us. On 2009, my dad was very fortunate enough to find a donor to help him live long and revive his kidneys. He went through a kidney transplant which was very successful.

But it didn't stop from there, after years of being well, he decided to finally retire and come home (Philippines). May 2012 he was finally with us. Since he was a kidney transplant alot of things like the weather here and food affected him.

3 years ago, he started to go back and forth from the hospitals. And believe me, being sick in the Philippines is very expensive. So he went back and forth, every 3 to 6 mos he have check ups and laboratory tests just to check if his kidney are ok and functioning well.

Then the most unexpected turn of event happened to him. On his 9th year of being ok and healthy (2018), last August 2018 we rushed him to the hospital because of some visible bruises and heavy breathing he has been experiencing. As per his doctors they said that his kidneys are starting to fail his body and that our only choice was either give him steriods or we need new kidneys.

So with the doctors suggestions, they started giving him steriods. At the first week, we thought he will be better and that his normal health will regain, but we were wrong.

A week after his steriods intake, he started deteriorating and was again rushed to the hospital because of the bruises that appeared to his whole lower leg uand upper arms. Thats where we found out that his platelets were continuously lessening from a normal count to only 4,000 platelets.

For 14 days we stayed there hoping they will find a cure to ease all the bruises that was showing on his body. It cost us $15,000 dollars but the hospital didnt found any cure for his platelets.

We consult the doctors if he is stable enough to go home because he is getting depress in the hospital. They said he is so we decided to bring him home hoping he will be better if he was at home rather in the hospital.

Last October 7 - 12 2018, me and my mom decided to go to the doctors my family members have been recommending. Much to our surprise they found the cure for his ailing plateletes. Joy filled our family as we keep on praying that this medicine can finally put his platelets problem done and that he can finally recover.

But God has a different plan for our family, on October 14, 2018 my mom observed that my dad was having difficult time breathing... so again, we rushed him back to the hospital.

He was then placed under the INTENSIVE CARE UNIT (ICU) because his xrays shows that he has fluid on his lungs and he was diagnosed to be having a pneoumonia and a bad systemic infection that caused his kidney to fail.

For 6days now, he has been under extensive antibiotic treatments and dialysis to help his body filter his blood plus hoping to take the fluid on his lungs off.

Doctors is telling us he is in stable condition but on crtical status. Our family have exhausted all our funds from August until now. and we have been on debt just to pay his medical needs.

Until now, he is fighting and he is strong. I know he can surpass all of these. I know he will live a long life after this. Me and my family are very hopeful that soon he will go home and do the things he normal do.Up to this day, his medical expense are now more than $5,000 and still counting.

Adding up all the outside expenses, we are most likely be over $6,000.

We are reaching to you not for symphathy but to share whatever is in your heart for my father. He is a good man and people like him should live. We are still fighting and we won't stop until he is well again.

Your love and support will definitely help him recover. I know one day he will be able to thanked everyone who showed and selflessly helped him and my family in this time of distress.
