Serenity & Kiralyn Tribute

On February 13th at approximately 3:00am on Mishkeegogamang First Nation the lives of 4 people were lost in a house fire. Mishkeegogamang First Nation is about 300 km northwest of Thunder Bay and just south of Pickle Lake. Specifically, two children Serenity (age 6) & Kiralyn Schell (age 3) perished in this fire. They were living with their mother Joyce, who also lost her life.

The girls we vibrant, intelligent, and smiley. They loved attending Wiggles & Giggles, a childrens play place. A close family member stated that if the girls were here "they would probably giggle and tell us it is okay and don't be sad." The girls were supposed to be coming to visit their daddy today on February 14, 2014 just before his 30th birthday, but unfortunately did not make it for one last visit. 

Donations will go to the girl's father, Ryan Schell. The two girls were his world and he was so proud to be their father. He lives in Thunder Bay, Ontario originally from Dryden, Ontario. He wasn't able to see the little girlies as often as he would have liked, but every visit he had with them he ensured it was special! The girls loved their father very much and the time that they spent with him.
