Send the Texas Ballers to Vegas Tournament

The Texas Ballers Youth Basketball Organization has an 8th and 9th grade basketball team, which recently took 7th place in a National Tournament.  With thier recent successes, the parents, their children, and the coaches want to compete in a major Las Vegas tournament in July 2013.  I have created this page to help cover the entry fee into this tournament.

The boys could use your help.  The Texas Ballers supports their players growth as individuals, not just basketball players.  Please take a few minutes out of your day to read the story below. Let's work together to help build these boys into strong men.

Meet Sean Sullivan

Sean Sullivan has always loved basketball.  From the age of 3, you could find him shooting the basketball on a Fisher-Price toy hoop with a plastic ball.  At this age, he loved to watch the Dallas Mavericks.  He could tell you all of the players names and their numbers.  His favorite players were Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, and Michael Finley.

Sean started playing in leagues through the YMCA.  He is left-handed, but he learned to shoot with either hand, which was a natural advantage during those early days of basketball.  At first, he played with girls and boys.  As he continued to grow up, Sean wanted more competition.  He started playing on a Select Basketball team at the age of 8.  His parents did not push Sean.  

Enter the Texas Ballers

On a whim, Sean tried out for the Texas Ballers.  His friend, Nathan, was on this team.  The Texas Ballers have challenged Sean.  As one of the bigger boys, Sean initially started.  The new team developed quickly.

They won every game in the two leagues they competed in the first summer.  New players were added.  Sean ended up moving to the bench.  He kept a positive attitude and maintained good grades.  

His teammates are supportive of Sean.  And, Sean supports his friends.  

I could have easily changed the name of Sean to Greg, Jake, JQ, Landon, Mikhail, or Javon.  All of the players support each other, keep positive attitudes, and maintain good grades.  

They also play some awesome basketball.  Watch out Vegas!

How You Can Help 

So, we have this great group of kids that want to go to Vegas to compete in a national basketball tournament.  Let's pay their entry fee.  

I know that a lot of you would give out of the kindness of your heart.  Let's have some fun, though.

Let's make the boys wear pink based upon some funding goals (see below).
