As you may or may not know, I run a small nonprofit organization called PopAtomic Studios. We do a lot of cool work with artists, scientists, teachers and students. We also lead the educational outreach initiative The Nuclear Literacy Project. My nuclear outreach work has been recognized with a recent invitation to Renaissance Weekend.

No! Not Renaissance Festival! Renaissance Weekend! Oh, you haven't heard of it? Here's some more info:

From Renaissanceweekend.org:

For more than 30 years, Renaissance Weekends® — inter-generational, invitation-only retreats for preeminent authorities, emerging leaders, and their families — have celebrated both ideas and relationships.

Participants are noted innovators in business and finance, education, religion, law and medicine, government, the media, science and technology, sports, non-profits and the arts.  Their ground-breaking, off-the-record exchanges — through lectures, seminars and dicussions — build bridges across traditional divides of professions and politics, geography and generations, religions and philosophies.  Civility prevails; partisanship is frowned upon; commercialism, banned.

The only problem?  Attending is expensive for an artist who runs a nonprofit (the lack of profit being the primary problem). However, this is a-once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to talk with young opinion leaders about nuclear energy's current clean air contributions; how nuclear energy continues to innovate; and how nuclear represents a bright future for clean energy technology.

50 people contributing $50 (tax-deductible!) will give nuclear energy a voice at the Renaissance Weekend. Please help me live up to the fancy new label I've recieved as a "Top Innovator Under 40" by sharing my vision for a clean NUCLEAR energy future through art.

  • Suzy, I wish you all the best for this unique opportunity you have been selected for. Spreading good news about nuclear thru art, what an amazing way to make people use their brains, both right and left side, that is!

  • Suzy is an inspirational character, and I envision that her ideas and non-traditional approach to promoting and advancing advocacy for safe, clean nuclear energy technology will have an opportunity to make a significant mark on this industry one day. An investment in her is well worth it; it is an investment in the future of nuclear energy advocacy that is greatly needed in order to ensure that we make the best use of Earth's precious wealth and hand a cleaner world to the next generation.
