SEND ME TO COLLEGE : SEEKING A DISRUPTIVE EDUCATION AT THE AFRICAN LEADERSHIP UNIVERSITY

Hello! My name is Sibonginkosi Netha. I am a 19 year old girl from Zimbabwe. My dream is to create a program that gives back to the African continent, not through charity but through education and exposure to opportunities that can help us to succeed. I believe that by revolutionizing the way the African youth perceive the problems that plague our continent and the world as a whole , we can uplift and empower the continent. I have the opportunity to attend the African Leadership University, a non traditional university based in Mauritius . The university teaches students to think creatively to discover solutions and is an example of what the founder, Fred Swaniker, would call "moonshot thinking". I believe that this is the perfect university for me because it is said that we can not solve our problems with the same thinking we had when we created them, therefore, a revolutionized way of thinking is what future leaders need to have in order to deal with poverty on our continent.
