Campaign Story
Hello!
My name is Lizzy and I am a dance/movement therapy (DMT) and counseling student at Antioch University New England. I just started my first year of graduate school and am already head over heels in love with the challenging and fulfilling program. I am confident that I will graduate from Antioch not just as a competent member of the mental health field, but as a trailblazer; creative and expertly trained, ready to become an influential part of the DMT community.
The 48th American Dance Therapy Association Annual Conference is coming up in late October and attending it would be an incredibly transformative experience for me. The opportunity to learn from, dance with, and be surrounded by DMT experts from around the world would be invaluable. However, this "invaluable" opportunity costs money: $375 to be exact. In addition, there are the costs of food for four days and the gas to drive from New Hampshire to New York City. I work as a Research Assistant for a small stipend and am saving up as much as I can, but could use some help. It is hard not to feel guilty asking for such a large sum of money, but I figure when broken down into many small amounts, it is totally doable. Any amount you can contribute, five dollars, even one dollar, would help more than you know.
If you are able and willing to donate, let me know your mailing address and in November you will receive a wonderfully unique construction paper card with a personalized tidbit of wisdom that I have brought back from the conference. Donate significantly and you may even receive a card complete with glitter, stickers, and a photo of yours truly in action.

Many thanks to you all! This is already more than I expected. I am truly grateful for your support and for the opportunity to go to this conference. It is a chance for me to grow personally and professionally, to represent my graduate school, to learn from DMT's best and brightest, and to meet people from future potential clinical internship and job sites. You rock! Grandma Audrey, Aunt Trudy, and Aunt Nancy - The Washington women are a generous and strong people. I am proud to be a child of your tribe. Dannielle - That picture is ridiculous. How long did you battle between using that one or one of the pics from "Celebrate"? Julia - You have a tremendously large heart for such a tiny person. I'm not sure where you manage to fit it. I worry for your health.
