Dear family and friends,
I have the incredible opportunity to go on a trip that could not only change my life, but the lives of those with whom I will be ministering. A team from my church is going to Chichicastenango, Guatemala June 8-15. I have prayed about it and have decided to go on this one week short term missions trip. This trip is going to be made up of high school seniors, parents and adults from Trinity Church in Stanton, Michigan.
We are going with an organization called Pray America (www.prayamerica.org). Pray America is about
sharing the Gospel through words and works to the Mayan people of Chichicastenango. This organization accomplishes this through teams building homes, installing water filtration systems and efficient wood stoves. We will be buying all the materials for each project during our stay. Pray America also uses funds raised to employ many local people in Guatemala. From their kitchen staff at their headquarters to the construction supervisors, they are very intentional about making the local economy better and are passionate about equipping the people of the country with life skills. They are NOT about just having groups come in from the States to do all the work and then leave the people there waiting for more assistance.
Some of the projects we may work on would be construction of new homes, installing water filtration systems, remodeling homes, discipleship with the staff and local people, as well as building bathrooms or installing efficient wood stoves. I will need to raise $2000 personally to cover my travel, lodging and supporting one child at the feeding program for one year.
Will you support me in prayer? I’m praying that this trip has the potential to alter my Kingdom perspective and help me to be a better missionary wherever God takes me. Would you pray that it will give me renewed compassion for people and a hope for Jesus Christ and the gospel? I understand that we won’t change the culture there drastically in one week, but this will allow us to do our part in taking the gospel to a lost nation.
Will you also support me financially? Every amount of financial support will help as I try to raise money for these homes, filtration systems, and stoves. Checks can be made out to Trinity Church and can be mailed to them directly at 415 N Mill St, Stanton, MI 48888. If you want your donation to be tax deductible, just make the check out to Trinity Church and designate that it’s for me on a sticky note attached to the check instead of written on the actual check. Or, if you prefer, you may donate here at www.gogetfunding.com.
Thank you so much for supporting me prayerfully and financially!
