I can’t tell you how excited and (honestly) a bit terrified I am to share this with you and I’ll tell you why.
You’ve heard of Brené Brown, right?
Her work is having a profound impact on so many people’s lives, including mine.
Now more than ever, we need to be innovative, creative and courageous. Parents, teachers, leaders (you name it), are being called upon to think outside the box and do things differently. The thing is, this is impossible from a place of feeling ‘not good enough’.
Brene Brown is leading the way, with an innovative new program aimed at helping would be leaders, innovators and creatives get over the ‘not good enough’ and dive into the work they are put here to do.
And I’ve been invited to train to be one of the facilitators of this new program.
The Daring Way certification is training based on Brené Brown’s research and has been developed to support individuals, groups and organizations to transform the way they work, love parent and lead by leaning into vulnerability, practicing courage and building resilience. My goal in taking this training is to provide people within my community and beyond (via travel and online training) the tools to take risks and live bravely so that they can create work and home environments that are progressive, supportive and successful.
At the same time, I’m a bit terrified because it means I need to ask for help, put myself out there, be seen and heard. I need to be vulnerable myself, first. These, my friends, are common ‘not good enough’ triggers and I for one am not immune to them.
The idea of putting it out there to my friends, family and followers that I could use some support, can be seen by many as a sign of weakness. Simply speaking out, sharing my beliefs and my vision is an act of both incredible vulnerability and courage. So, I knew what I had to do. In order to feel integrity moving forward I am sharing my journey with you.
I believe that this is the way of the future. It is time to knock down the messages of ‘not good enough’ and believe that we are worthy of love and belonging. It’s time to discover how to live bravely, take risks, feel afraid, do it anyway and feel our way through failure and success so that we can build resilience and perseverance.
With grace and gratitude,
I intend to use this campaign to:
- subsidize my expenses, which are listed below.
- be in service to my community helping to create families, teams and organizations that are bravely innovative, honest and creative.
- raise money for scholarships for program participants who experience a financial barrier to the course.
My expenses include:
Flight $750 (COVERED!)
Hotel $800 (COVERED!)
I hope to raise these funds by August 14th, 2018.
Who I am:
As a Transformational Life coach, I run workshops, facilitate group coaching, present at conferences and work individually with clients. The coaching work I do is transformative as it focuses on supporting my clients to discover the truth of who they are and what they are being asked to do with their lives.
I also bring mindfulness tools into my work so that I can support my clients in bringing awareness to their actions in order to create the changes they seek. I hold space for my clients in an open, safe and non-judgemental way so that they are free to explore their inner truth.
As a result, my clients see incredible changes in their perspectives, workplace satisfaction and sense of purpose.
I have been coaching clients on a one to one basis for over two and a half years and am a certified professional coach through ICF.
I have presented at several conferences on topics related to work/life balance, goal setting, taking responsibility for our lives and health, mindfulness, and addressing mind, body, emotion and spirit as a way to healing.
I offer workshops and retreats for women to do deep dives into discovering their values and life purpose so that they may create daily, weekly and annual strategic plans that are in alignment with their core values and bring a deeper sense of commitment and integrity.
I work with organizations to bring mindfulness tools to their teams so that they can experience less stress, more workplace satisfaction and better communication.
