Campaign Story
Self-sufficient Paul & Judith have been living an off-grid lifestyle for over 40 years, and have hosted and taught many people about self-sufficiency, permaculture and climate change.
They have been through really difficult times, having their entire property burnt to the ground in 2019 from the horrific climate change caused NSW forest fires. They have been trying to rebuild their property- food forest, animal pens and vegetable patch to continue their self-sufficiency lifestyle. However, both of them are suffering from severe health implications, and are unable to continue to continue their lifestyle. Paul who does all building on the property, has had his kidneys failed, and he has a cancer in his ear. He will require kidney dialysis. Judith who grows the food, is also affected by diffuse Idiopathic skeletal hyper ostosis (DISH(, which affects her mobility and causes a lot of pain.
They are exploring moving into a nursing home, however, the cost of the move is more than the value of the property at its current forest fire damaged state. The funds raised will be used to cover the clearing up parts of the property that was affected in the bush fire. This will allow them to regain their self-sufficient lifestyle, and have enough to move into a nursing home.
Paul and Judith are my life mentors in self-sufficiency and permaculture, and I've created this campaign to give back to them after all the amazing things that they have contributed to countless people worldwide.
