Sebastian Stan’s 36th Birthday Fundraiser for the Children with Autism from Constanta, Romania

What does a group of friends of different nationalities have in common?

A Malaysian, a Filipino, a Hong Konger and a Romanian, have one answer. We all admire Sebastian Stan, the American-Romanian actor whose name is synonymous to Gossip Girl’s Carter Baizen and MCU’s Bucky Barnes / the Winter Solider among others. He was a common denominator for us that led to our friendship even though we were continents apart. We discovered that aside from Sebastian, we all love MCU as well. Although we have not met personally, we continually communicate with each other every now and then, of course through the help of the internet and of social media.

Sebastian Stan Fans Club (SSFC) is an Instagram page that focuses on Sebastian’s career. We came up with a birthday project for Sebastian, in which we launched collecting a month long celebration that started from July 7 till August 13, collecting birthday messages and fan arts. As side from this, one of the organizers came up with the idea of doing a fundraiser a few weeks before Sebastian will turn 36, on August 13.

During one of the interviews that Sebastian had earlier this year, he mentioned autism as one of the causes that he supported because his manager’s child was diagnosed with autism.

Since the organizers have, one way or the other, had a connection with autism. We (SSFC) decided to help out Constanța Prin Ochil Autismmului.

Under this motto, Constanta Prin Ochii Autismmului (Constanta through the Eyes of Autism) a non-profit photography exhibition charity event was founded in 2016 by Oana Rizea with her husband, Christian, and some of their closest friends. Later on, the Constanta based non-profit organization Music for Autism (which was founded in 2006 and focuses on raising funds for children with autism and disabilities) and Fractal Media joined them in this beautiful journey. This charity event focuses on teaching the autistic children from Constanta (Yes! It is Sebastian’s hometown in Romania) on how to take pictures as part of their therapy, which is also known as Photo Voice, a therapy widely used in countries all over the globe and that tells stories that up until now were only known to them.

The fundraising will run from July 18 until August 20, 2018. The fundraising page at gogetmefunding.com is directly linked to Constanta Prin Ochii Aurtismmului, which means that every money you’ve donated will go to the photography charity event.

Our goal is to reach $1,000 (USD) as a Standom’s birthday gift for Sebastian and the children with austism in Constanta by donating or by sharing it with your family and friends. All funds raised goes to the Day Center for the children with autism in Constanta.
